Mohsin Taasha est né en 1991 à Kaboul en Afghanistan. À l’arrivée au pouvoir des talibans en 1996, sa famille émigre au Pakistan où elle reste jusqu’en 2004. À son retour, il prend des cours avec deux maîtres de la miniature, Khadem Ali et Sher Ali et étudie la peinture aux Beaux-Arts de Kaboul, où il se dégage du réalisme et des règles de la miniature traditionnelle. En 2017, Mohsin obtient une licence en art de l’Université Nationale Beaconhouse de Lahore, Pakistan. 

La résidence de Mohsin Taasha bénéficie du soutien du Programme national pour l’accueil de scientifiques et d’artistes en exil PAUSE porté par le Collège de France, en partenariat avec l’Atelier des artistes en exil.

Mohsin Taasha was born in 1991 in Kabul, Afghanistan. When the Talibans came to power in 1996, his family emigrated to Pakistan where they stayed until 2004. Upon his return, he took classes with two masters of miniature painting, Khadem Ali and Sher Ali, and studied painting at the Kabul School of Fine Arts, where he freed himself from realism and the rules of traditional miniature painting. In 2017, Mohsin graduated from Beaconhouse National University in Lahore, Pakistan. 

Mohsin Taasha’s residency is supported by the PAUSE Program for Scientists and Artists in Exile run by the Collège de France, in partnership with the Agency for artists in exile.
