Conference : Leto Ybarra

Juf is a nomadic curatorial platform that works through listening, conversation, and sustained collaboration with artists. Its projects take the form of exhibitions, performances, and collaborations between artists, thinkers, and poets. In this talk, Leto Ybarra, co-founder of Juf alongside Bea Ortega Botas, will discuss examples from contemporary art that engage theatricality and spatiality as ways of thinking through the present political moment, drawing on projects curated by Juf such as Creating its own occasions as a stage does (Madrid, 2023), Works Abundancies (New York, 2025, 2026), and the genealogy of Poets Theater in San Francisco. The talk will also address their work with the estates of artists Fran Herndon and Perla Zúñiga.
