Cross-Workshop with Ensa Paris Belleville and the National Dance Center

For the third year, Villa Arson is renewing its partnership with the National School of Architecture of Paris-Belleville (ENSA-PB), as part of a project that will take place at Villa Arson from April 4 to 13, and which this year also involves the National Dance Center in Pantin (CND).

After “Art, Architecture, Territory” in 2023, “A Cultural Center for the Madeleine Valley in Nice” in 2024, the theme of the 2025 workshop is titled “Territory and Architecture, Villa Arson, a Dance School in Nice” echoing the first attempts to renovate the old theater, which had involved the choreographer Boris Charmatz.

This work sequence is the result of experimental teaching carried out at ENSA-PB by Bita Azimi, Éric Babin (architects) and Arnold Pasquier (filmmaker). It brings together the fields of architecture, video, and dance. During previous workshops, several teachers and workshop leaders from Villa Arson have, through their presence, contributed to enriching the reflections and energizing the projects presented by the students. At each session, external speakers are also invited, and meetings are organized in different locations depending on the issue at hand. This year, at the invitation of the CND, a choreographer will lead a workshop for the students. This year, Tanin Torabi, artist-in-residence at Villa Arson, will lead a day-long workshop on Monday, April 7, 2025, for the 28 students from ENSA-PB and 6 students from Villa Arson.
