Cinema–Video Workshop
Cinema–Video Workshop

Technique / Discipline: Cinema–Video Practices
Location: Digital Arts Hub
Workshop Supervisor: Tiago Andrade
The Cinema–Video Workshop supports students in their projects and artistic research, ranging from research films to experimental video, including documentary work and hybrid forms that combine various visual and sound languages.
Production and Shooting
The workshop offers individualized guidance on each project, supported by a range of professional equipment, including:
- Cameras: Sony, Canon, Blackmagic
- Lenses: cinema and photography optics
- Full-frame cameras for animation projects (Canon EOS, Sony Alpha)
- Audio equipment: directional microphones, lavalier mics
- Shooting accessories: tripods, sliders, stabilizers, rigs, mini crane
- Film lighting: LED panels, Fresnel projectors, RGB lights
Post-production
The workshop also provides support throughout all stages of post-production, with access to:
- Five specialized studios dedicated to editing, color grading, sound mixing, and visual effects
- Professional software: Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition), Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve
A digitization studio is also available, handling all analog magnetic tape formats (VHS, Hi8, MiniDV, Betacam, U-matic).
Animation Studio
A space dedicated to stop-motion animation, equipped with full-frame cameras mounted on shooting systems and the professional software Dragonframe.
Multi-station Computer Lab
Designed for both collective teaching and independent work, this lab allows students to practice video editing, color grading, as well as sound processing and design.
It also functions as a shared space with the sound studio and photography workshop, encouraging interdisciplinary exchanges and the development of joint projects across different artistic practices.
Flexible Classroom and Experimentation Space
The workshop also includes a modular classroom designed as a space for experimentation, practice, and research. It can be arranged to host shooting workshops, seminars, or explorations in animation.
Shared with the sound studio, this space fosters exchanges between practices and supports the creation of interdisciplinary projects, particularly in preparation for evaluations, but also within the framework of collective or individual research. It thus plays a central role in developing collaborative approaches within the Digital Arts Hub.
