Summer School of Art Practices Day 4

From July 8 to 12, 2025, the Villa Arson Art Center invites teenagers and adults to take part in the Constellation subaquatique summer art school. Curated by artist Gil Lekh, this summer school is conceived as a space-time for learning, creating and sharing, in resonance with the exhibition Becoming Ocean: a social conversation about the Ocean. Entirely free of charge, this event is open to all upon registration.
Program
Day 4 – The hold, the undercommons, submerged memory
In resonance with the work Diaspora ad Astra – Stephanie Comilang from the exhibition Becoming Ocean
This day is dedicated to what is buried, submerged, repressed – but still active. We’ll interrogate our own intimate sediments, our family, diasporic or forgotten narratives.
Body practice: À perte de trame, a protocol for researching personal memories.
Workshop: Modeling.
Based on a workshop to recall objects and memories that have accompanied us, we’ll model a series of forms linked to these memories.
Practical information
Free with registration (14 years and over)
No pre-requisites. People in vulnerable situations are welcome (we’ll make sure that conditions are adapted).
After registration, the artist will contact participants to prepare the workshops.
