Summer School of Art Practices Day 2

From July 8 to 12, 2025, the Villa Arson Art Center invites teenagers and adults to participate in the summer school of art practices Underwater Constellation. Proposed by artist Gil Lekh, this summer school is designed as a space-time for learning, creating, and sharing in resonance with the exhibition Becoming Ocean: a social conversation about the Ocean. Entirely free, this event is accessible upon registration.
Program
Day 2 – Making the world together: interspecies, interrelations, transformations
In resonance with the works Sea Lovers – Ingo Niermann and Ziggy and the starfish – Anne Duk Hee Jordan from the exhibition Becoming Ocean
How do we think about and feel our attachments to other living beings? This one-day event invites us to consider the world as a shifting, porous web of relationships, combining ecofeminism and speculative fictions.
Body practice: listening session in the Villa Arson gardens.
Workshop: Writing, drawing and publishing.
This workshop is an opportunity to try your hand at fanzines and self-publishing, which originated in the punk movement and are now a common practice among young artists at art school. The combination of writing workshop and publishing will take the form of a relational poster-edition.
Practical information
Free with registration (14 years and over)
No pre-requisites. People in vulnerable situations are welcome (we’ll make sure that conditions are adapted).
After registration, the artist will contact participants to prepare the workshops.
