Artist in residence between September 28 and December 15, 2023 in the framework of a partnership with the Embassy of France in Iran.
Born in 1986 in Tehran (Iran), Sepideh Zamani worked as a graphic designer in advertising agencies before obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Art in sculpture at Tehran University of the Arts.
Between 2008 and 2014, she was a founding member of Tehran Carnival, an all-women artists’ collective known for its interventions and performances in public spaces in Tehran.
In 2020, she was a laureate of the year-long residency program at Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht (Netherlands).
The use of papier maché in her sculptures and installations reflects both her desire to produce quickly and her intention to make artworks on a limited budget.
